Approximate QR-Based Algorithms for Recursive Nonlinear Least Squares Estiamtion

چکیده
This paper proposes new approximate QR-based algorithms for recursive nonlinear least squares (NLS) estimation. Two QR decomposition-based recursive algorithms are introduced based on the classical Gauss-Newton (GN) and Levenberg-Marquardt (LM) algorithms in nonlinear unconstrained optimization or least squares problems. Instead of using the matrix inversion formula, recursive QR decomposition is employed, which is known to be numerically more stable in finite wordlength implementation. A family of p-A-QR-LS algorithms is then proposed to solve the LS problem resulting from the linearization of the NLS problem. It achieves different complexity-performance tradeoffs by retaining different number of diagonal plus off-diagonals (denoted by an integer p) of the triangular factor of the augmented data matrix. Simulation results on identifying a nonlinear perceptron are provided to illustrate the principle of the new algorithms.

متن کاملIterative version of the QRD for adaptive RLS filtering
A modiied version of the QR{decomposition (QRD) is presented. It uses approximate Givens rotations instead of exact Givens rotations, i.e., a matrix entry usually annihilated with an exact rotation by an angle is only reduced by using an approximate rotation by an angle ~. The approximation of the rotations is based on the idea of CORDIC. Evaluating a CORDIC{based approximate rotation is to det...

Its performance is illustrated by simulations of a blind receiver for a multicarrier CDMA...
متن کاملExact and approximate solutions of fuzzy LR linear systems: New algorithms using a least squares model and the ABS approach
We present a methodology for characterization and an approach for computing the solutions of fuzzy linear systems with LR fuzzy variables. As solutions, notions of exact and approximate solutions are considered. We transform the fuzzy linear system into a corresponding linear crisp system and a constrained least squares problem. If the corresponding crisp system is incompatible, then the fuzzy ...

Some recursive least-squares algorithms for multichannel active noise control have recently been introduced, including computationally efficient (i.e. “fast”) versions. However, these previously published algorithms suffer from numerical instability due to finite precision computations. In this paper, numerically robust recursive least-squares algorithms for multichannel active noise control sy...
